FLIGHT 001 (pronounced: “flight one”) was originally conceived in 1998 aboard Air France flight 023, somewhere between New York and Paris. John Sencion and Brad John, two business travelers who had spent far too much time preparing for their trip, envisioned a travel store as streamlined as flight itself. Luckily for travelers of every kind, their mid-air epiphany resulted in a jet-setter’s dream: an all-inclusive, retro-modern retail experience that satisfies the frequent traveler’s every need.
Flight 001 stores bring to life a signature experience that blends technology, entertainment, and intelligent marketing with a retro-mod ambiance and style. The unique interiors feature a glowing lighting effect, curved walls, and warm walnut paneling –– all fashioned to resemble the fuselage of a 747 jet airliner. As of Spring 2014, Flight 001 has stores in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Berkeley, Brooklyn, Tokyo, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Bangkok, Taipei, Jakarta and Manila.
