Exploring the Outdoors with the Columbia Sportswear Hiking Club
June 30, 2025
Columbia Sportswear, under Primer Group’s brand management, formed a hiking group called Columbia Hike Society. This allows participants to discover and experience various landscapes within their respective countries. This initiative aims to introduce Columbia Hiking Society to build a community and introduce the consumers to the outdoors appreciating the beauty of nature and advocating for responsible hiking practices.
The Indonesian Columbia Hiking Society holds the initiative every 2 months. Participants are able to sign up on the Columbia Hike Society ID landing page and select which month’s event they like to join. The hiking club already had two hiking initiatives in the year in February and April 2025.
Last April 26, 2025, the Columbia Hiking Club celebrated Earth Day with a trekking adventure with a total distance traveled of 8km with views of charming villages and pine forests with stunning hill views to Geopark Goa Agung Garunggang. The place features fascinating and unique rock formations, shaped by natural geological processes over millions of years. The cave is adorned with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, creating a breathtaking underground landscape.
In the Philippines, the hike took place in Real, Quezon Province in Barangay Tagumpay with water tubing that took place in Tanauan White River Rafting. The 15 attendees who share a love for the outdoors fostered meaningful and intimate connections with one another. The participants were also the first group who experienced the challenging and long trail.
The hike will take place at least once a month and will continue to promote local attractions and create a unique hiking experience.
This initiative by Primer Group has created an opportunity to connect people through shared experiences while advocating for environmental awareness and sustainable adventure. Through this movement, the brand not only gains visibility but also becomes a catalyst for positive lifestyle change, environmental consciousness, and community-building rooted in a shared love for the outdoors.
