The Gary Yeang Chronicles: Adopt and Use Ownership Mindset to Fast-track your Career
August 13, 2019
I had the privilege to be one of the speakers.
Thank you, Asel and Maynard.
Below is the topic of my talk.
Any employee aspiring to become a rock star in his company,
To quickly climb the corporate ladder, to reach the summit,
Here’s my tip: Adopt and practice an Ownership Mindset (OM).
Start thinking you own the company, not just work for it.
Embrace the owner’s vision, goals and agendas.
OM will motivate you to put heart and soul into your assigned tasks,
move heaven and earth to solve daunting challenges,
exploit all opportunities to further grow the owner’s business.
Your attitude and performance will be noticed and you’ll be rewarded.
OM is a trait, a unique selling proposition: Employee offers Employer,
Shares with Employer same entrepreneurial kindred spirit.
Most employees have a “me first” mentality, puts self before owner’s interests.
Personal agendas birth conflicts, resulting in employee’s dissatisfaction,
Cause divisions within a company instead of desired unity.
But if from Day one that employee adopts OM,
he’ll find work riveting, purposeful, fulfilling, satisfying.
Never a dull day in the office
Gain recognition, appreciation, valued, become an asset to owner.
OM is an app that employee easily downloads into his mind.
A daily mantra to repeat to himself:
“I Own This Company.
This is My business.”

Maraming salamat kina Asel at Maynard.
